    Description

    Antique open work wrought iron surface mount keyhole plate latch body only, circa 1800.  Called a keyhole latch due to it's shape resembling a keyhole on it's side.  Being sold as found - not complete.  Measuring 6  1/2"
    deep
    x 3  1/2"
    high at widest end.   The spring is strong and the bar lifts.  This is a left hand latch body for a door hinged on the right.  The bar shows a deep indent where it dropped into the original keeper through many years.  Surface rust with some pitting and years of dirt.  As is.
